Two Rivers Water & Light Least Expensive of Area Utilites
Monthly Electric Rate Comparison
Based on 2009 Estimates

Two Rivers Water & Light was founded in 1902. While a lot has changed over the past century, the focus of the utility has not. Today, we still offer our customers some of the lowest electric rates in the area - rates significantly lower than those in territories that are served by investor-owned utilities. Two Rivers Water & Light also provides three-phase power to the city's industrial parks.

The 2009 rate comparison by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin Shows Two Rivers Water & Light has the lowest rates of all other area utilities in all categories; residential, general service, small power service, and large customers. See the Chart

Water

The new Ultrafiltration Membrane Facility initial capacity is 3.75 million gallons per day with additional capacity designed into the project. Average usage is 1.4 million gallons per day with a peak use of about 2.5 million gallons per day.

This system will prevent anything larger than 0.01 microns from going through, and will remove all bacteria in the water, about 90% of the viruses, all cryptosporidium and giardia. Chlorine is added to finish killing remaining viruses and to protect the distribution system.

Two Rivers Water & Light provides our customers with clean, high-quality water from Lake Michigan that meets or exceeds all state and federal standards. Our water quality and capacity are monitored every day by well-trained system operators.

Our water system served the community and its industrial parks with a ground storage capacity of 2 million gallons and an overhead storage capacity of 1 million gallons.
