The North Side is the
newest and largest of the residential areas and has the highest
per capita income of any of the areas of the city.
There's a good mixture of home styles as you move
north through the area. Housing is generally
more expensive, especially in the most northern
area. There are two schools
with large playgrounds, but as of yet no city park -
though development of one or two new parks is
possible in the near future. One of the city's two
public cemeteries is located in the area.
Near the Central City, you'll find
older homes surrounded by mature trees on tree-lined
streets. When
you get to the northern-most section, you'll see new
homes on what was vacant land just a dozen of years
ago.

The north side is
least affected by the Lake Effect. On the far north
end, weather conditions are often much more like
inland areas than along the lakeshore. Don't worry,
you'll get used to carrying a sweater in the car for
your five-minute trip downtown.
Commercial
development on the North Side is limited, though
there are some convenience stores, some retail and some professional
businesses.
There is good potential for future
commercial and a residential development, especially
north and west of the intersection of State Highway
147 and County Highway V V (45th Street).
